Kodiak Alaska Military History

Maps

Introduction

Some of the maps here are in Autocad DWF format. There is a free browser plug-in available from Autodesk.

The file names of the DWF files are mostly those assigned by Jacobs Engineering who is the contractor for the Corps of Engineers. The fine people at Jacobs and at the US Army Corps of Engineers have been very helpful in assisting our research and to them we owe our thanks. Their CORPSCON datum conversion program is also very useful.

Place names are modern conventional useage. These Autocad maps depict 1998 conditions although some of the trails and buildings shown are no longer there or are difficult to find. These maps were created to clean up the area and show a few old structures that they were interested in cleaning up. There were many many many many more Quonset huts and other buildings not shown on these maps.

The other maps are standard JPG files that will display on any browser.
