1970-1980

The microwave path was to Edenton and Elizabeth City with Lenkurt 74 radios and flyswatter or periscope reflectors on the tower. Hertford was on the N&CT&T open-wire route from Elizabeth City to CT&T at Windsor.

There was quite an assortment of carrier used in Hertford. EAS circuits to Edenton were on Lenkurt 33 on open-wire. There was Panhandle X carrier to Welch. Lenkurt 46A was on the microwave to Elizabeth City.

Hertford had an assigned switchman, Jim Rennie.
