Albert Knack served as an Airman Machinist Mate and plane captain with Fleet Air Wing 4 during World War II. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1948 then joined the Army. Al retired from the Army as a major in 1964. After a career with Hewlett-Packard as an electro-mechanical engineer he again retired in 1984. He resides in Santa Rosa California.
Sketches by Knack are in a book by Jeff Dickrell, Center of the Storm, about Navy seaplanes in World War II.
