Kodiak 28 November 1945 Hi11 is yet to be placed and all other cables are now tem- porarily terminated near the HDCP and will have to be half tapped and brought into the HDCP; approx. 2500 ft. of cable from Gibson Cove Base and station to searchlights #11 & #12 in yet to be laid and the ditches have not been dug; approx. 2000 ft. of 11 pair cable is yet to be placed in ducts to serve Mansfield Ridge base end station; about 300 feet of cable is yet to be placed to serve the Batt. #3 CP and plotting room; all equipment has been set up in the HDCP switchboard room and will be wired during January. This area should be in service by 1 April 1944. 5. In the Mil1er Pt. Area: All equipment in the switch- board room is set up and will be wired on completion of Ar- tillery Hill; 11 pair cable serving Spruce Cape was inadequate to serve AMTB installation and 28 pair has been laid to re- place it; 2000 ft. of additional 26 pair cable has been laid at Spruce Cape to give distribution to the new installations; all cable on Spruce Island has been laid but not spliced; cable from switchboard room to guns is yet to be placed. This area should be in service by 1 April 1944. 6. The following personnel worked on this project during December: 1 ACS engineering officer 17 ACS engineering EM 1 ACS civilian engineer 10 civilian laborers 75 Coast Artillery EM 100 EM detail for 1 day 50 EM detail for 2 days 7. The following equipment was used on this project during December: ACS equipment 3-light trucks 1-2 1/2 ton line truck 1-cable reel trailer 1-110 cu. ft. air compressor Equipment borrowed from Post 4-1/2 ton Weapons carriers 3-1 1/2 ton Cargo trucks "J" boats and power barges as required. 8. Considerable time is still being consumed in repair- ing damage to cables however cases of trouble are becoming fewer as the Naval Construction workers complete their work and move out of the many areas in which they have been work- ing.
